Before joining CNN IBN, has spent 9 long years of his career as executive producer in a news channel famously known as 24ghanta a joint venture of zee media and akash bangla.
Completed his masters in sociology from Calcutta university and has a diploma in cinematography from CHITRABANI. Started his career as a freelance documentary film maker. His first job was with ETV news bangla in 1999. In 2000 he joined zee bangla.
Before 24 ghanta he has worked as a news producer in akaash bangla from 2001 to 2005.

Kausik’s key achievements are, he was the key member to launch akash bangla in the year 2001 and 24 ghanta (Zee akash news Pvt Ltd) in 2006 .Started events like ANANYA SAMMAN, STATE SUMMIT AND AMAR BANGLA AMAR GAURAV IN 2007 AND 2008 RESPECTIVELY. Key member to launch First ever channel from Agartala,Tripura as AAKASH TRIPURA.Launched www.24ghanta.com , the first regional language website in zee news network. With his effort Bengali news channel going global, started 24ghanta BANGAMANCHA from UK and USA.
