Saayan Chattopadhyay is Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at a college affiliated to Calcutta University. Previously he was a lecturer and course coordinator at the department of Media Studies, Pailan School of International Studies. After a stint as a journalist, he is currently engaged in research in postcolonial media, ethnicity and masculinity. He has published research articles on various issues related to Indian media and culture in international journals including, Studies in South Asian Film and Media, Journalism Practice, South Asia Research, Sarai Reader, Journal of Boyhood Studies, among others and has also authored book chapters for Sussex Academic Press, IGI Global, Routledge, etc.
